We believe....... that children are not a commodity.
Our innovative, small group homes are just that - homes that offer each child the time to be nurtured and supported, not only by their carers, but also by the wider community.
Our focus on youth development is not born out of a faceless corporate strategy, it is part of the reason we are here, and centred around our Christian values. This is demonstrated in the high aspirations we hold for the young people we are lucky to care for.
At our YMCA, the Board of Trustees, CEO and senior managers have a greater understanding of the diverse needs of our young people and are passionate about their care and future prospects.
Settled Care is our Children's Residential Homes Service, and a Nottinghamshire YMCA signature programme.
We've been helping young people to fulfil their potential since 1871.
Our mission, based on Christian values, is to develop the mind, body and spirit of individuals, families and communities, and improve health and well-being for all.
You will be joining an organisation that finds creative ways to make working at the YMCA a truly great experience. This is reflected in the Top 100 Best Not for Profit Organisations to Work For accreditation.
As Registered Manager, you'll be a critical part of our team. We're looking for someone who is experienced, committed and passionate who can maintain our Ofsted ratings of Outstanding and Good.
"It is a privilege as the Manager to see the very positive changes in our young people every day. By working closely with other services in the YMCA family, we provide a greater holistic opportunity for our young people. [They] are happy and settled, achieving high attendance and achievements in education, taking part in exciting activities ... such as drama classes, day camps, outdoor pursuits, work experience and school trips. These young people have had few opportunities and sometimes great hardship in their lives. In our homes they are cared for, nurtured, given realistic boundaries and support from our dedicated staff. The results are young people reaching their true potential." A Registered Manager talks about his role at our YMCA.
Your priority will be to safeguard the physical and emotional safety needs of the children and young people in our care. You will be responsible for ensuring that the home is run efficiently and providing a positive environment which allows each child to reach their full potential.
It is essential that you hold a Diploma Level 5 Leadership and Management (Children and Young People) qualification. You'll have detailed knowledge of Safeguarding policies, Ofsted requirements and behaviour management strategies. You will be responsible for leading, managing and motivating your team to deliver the desired outcomes under the Quality Standards.
