This is a temporary post initially up to on or before 31 March 2018 but with potential employment beyond subject to funding
Many of the young people who seek our support arrive lonely, unmotivated and have low self esteem. Your role, funded by Comic Relief, will be vital in helping them to break down these barriers.
You will devise and lead workshops, programmes and meetings to develop employment and life skills of the young people we work with. You’ll also be the first port of call for young people seeking support and guidance. You’ll need to be able to effectively motivate, communicate with and inspire the young people at the Mansfield Hostel and our surrounding Transitional Homes.
Research recently published by YMCA England found that 81% of supported accommodation residents worry about being able to find somewhere to live when they are ready to move on so am awareness of local and national priorities regarding young people will allow you to excel in this role. You’ll be interested in and committed to getting the best out of the young people you work with.
If you have experience of working with challenging young people from diverse backgrounds, we’d love to hear from you. Help us make a difference. Please refer to the job description and person specification for full list of requirements and responsibilities.
This post is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check (which we will pay for) and registration with the DBS Update Service. To apply please download an application pack or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please note we are unable to accept CV’s unless accompanied by a completed application form.
