Can you deliver first class services to vulnerable adults in Nottingham?
At Nottinghamshire YMCA, we are all about developing the mind, body and spirit of individuals, families and communities. It is in our mission. This exciting opportunity in our housing team is perfect for someone who wants to be part of our mission by helping people in our hostel and homes towards independent living.
You will work with residents, individually and in group sessions, enabling them to sustain their tenancies and achieve independent living through our staged progression provisions. You will help them develop life skills, access relevant services, help them to access appropriate benefits and pay rent. You will also undertake inductions, compile reports and statistics, deal with disputes, manage incidents and deal with anti social behaviour issues.
Previous experience in a similar role coupled with in-depth knowledge of housing issues and legislation relating to homelessness, safeguarding and the benefits system is essential. You must also have high level IT skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills. You must be able to work effectively with adults with chaotic lifestyles on a one to one and group basis and have an empathetic but professional approach. You must be highly organised, a team player and be able to work on your own initiative and problem solve in what can be a challenging yet rewarding environment.
We are one of the Sunday Times Best Not for Profit Companies to Work For 2017. We will support you with training and development and we provide a significant programme of workplace benefits including YMCA gym membership, generous leave entitlements and wellbeing support.
